Blogging

Blogging can be very beneficial with providing information, opinions, expressing feelings others can relate to, entertainment, etc.  In several cases, blogging is very fun and rewarding for both the blogger and the audience.  However, blogging is all of these things, if used appropriately. When we use the word "appropriate", I understand that it is a very controversial subject in defining the line between appropriate and not appropriate.  But, let's have some common sense, putting someone down, talking bad about someone, and spreading rumors, does no good for anyone.  If there is something that people have a problem with, there's no need to be negative.  Instead, providing positive suggestions on how to fix a problem would be helpful.  However, we can't seem to do that.  We get our entertainment by blaming, shaming, and making things up about someone else.
The article provided for us to read for this assignment made many good points.  It's very true about how there are so many restrictions and rules with what is broadcasted on radio and TV but not so much with the internet.  Right now, there is a lot of talk about the shooting in Florida and any time there's a mass shooting, gun control is always a big topic.  While there are many people who provide their opinionated suggestion on the subject through blogging, there are many out there that are just wanting to blame someone else, even if our rule makers are doing the best they can.  This can effect our society in a negative way if so many people are hating on the government and instead taking matters in their own hands, which could be dangerous.
It's important to share.  If you have information that could be beneficial to people, then it should be passed on.  The internet is a great resource for seeking information, knowledge, and entertainment and it would be a shame if we didn't have the power to publish anything we wanted if the blog was appropriate and helpful.  However, the way that some people are taking advantage of the power is ruining blogging because of the way they use it to destroy peoples lives.  If there aren't strong restrictions on what is posted, this kind of behavior will continue because this has become our entertainment and people hooked on it and accustomed to it.
